Company description

The Casa Agrícola Assis Lobo, Lda, was recently established in May 2002. However, viticulture is deeply rooted in our family from bygone days. From
generation to generation, this noble art has been perfected and adapted to the demands of those who appreciate and judge it. Having as the utmost priority the high quality of our wines, only grapes from our vineyards, situated in the most privileged and noblest areas of the region of Palmela, such as are Lau, Fonte da Barreira, Poceirão and Fernando Po, are used. Headquarters and sales office are located at our old wine cellar in the historic centre of Palmela, where we store our wines in stone recipients for at least 5 months. At 2004 we open a vinification centre located at Fernando Po one of the noblest vineyard areas of Palmela.
We owned 60 ha of vineyards spread throughout Palmela village, where the following grapes varieties are produced:
- Red grapes: Account for 90% of the vineyard, being Castelão (70%), Trincadeira, Aragonês, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Miúda, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante Bouschet and Moscatel Roxo;
- - White grapes: Account 10% of the vineyard, being Fernão Pires, Verdelho, Trajadura, Moscatel Galego Branco, Avesso, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay
The type of soil is almost sandy level and the climate is Mediterranean type with a very long dry-season
