The Portuguese wine is one the country’s
cultural symbols. It is the reward of
each land’s customs, climate diversity, soil
richness and ancestral techniques introduced
by the different civilizations that preceded it.
It reflects the essence of a people that values
tradition, conviviality and good gastronomy
with wine at the table.
Portugal is one of the oldest countries in wine trading,
being that Douro was the first region in the world to be
demarcated for its wine production in the 18th century.
Thanks to the beauty and diversity of its landscape, part
of that wine region was included by UNESCO in the list
of World Heritage Sites in 2001.

exploration and variable climate conditions, Portugal
exhibits a real treasure of vine varieties which include

personalities.

Atlantic Ocean in Alto Douro enable the production of
some of the finest and exclusive wines of the world. In
Alentejo, the many hours of sunshine allow the perfect
maturation of grapes giving the wine a strong character.
